Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS) has entered into a one-year charter agreement with Repsol Norge for platform supply vessel (PSV) Energy Swan
The long-term deal, which contains options, will commence in October, following the completion of the large ST 216 L design PSV’s short-term charter to Wintershall Dea Norge on the Norwegian continental shelf.
GEOS chief executive Per Ivar Fagervoll did not disclose rate details, but confirmed the contract secures employment for Energy Swan to end 2022 (2023 if options used) on market levels.
In addition, GEOS will install shore-power connections to facilitate use as per IEC PAS 80005-3, meaning the vessel diesel generators can be stopped while alongside where shore-power facilities are available. This is in line with the OSV owner’s sustainability ambitions of reducing NOx, CO2 emissions and making offshore supply vessels more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
“Golden Energy Offshore is a fully integrated shipowning company located in Ålesund, Norway with all management functions inhouse and we look forward to working with Repsol Norge with our large PSV Energy Swan, providing logistics services for these vessels for the benefit and success of both parties,” said Mr Fagervoll.
Propulsion is supplied by shaft-driven azipulls providing low fuel consumption at its economic speed of approximately 12 knots, and high speed of 18.5 knots when fast transits are needed.
