Offshore installation vessel owner Havfram has secured a vessel reservation agreement with an as yet undisclosed client
The contract will see Havfram transport and install what it described as ‘next-generation’ offshore wind turbines.
The Norwegian company said it would execute the project using one of its newbuild wind turbine installation vessels, which are under construction at CIMC Raffles in China.
Havfram vice president offshore wind Martin Degen said the deal will add further to the company’s growing backlog. He noted that installation activity will not commence until the first quarter of 2029. The company will complete the project in 2030.
Mr Degen said the vessel in question is due to be delivered to Havfram in 2025.
