Commercial and pool management specialist Heidmar has acquired Q-Shipping BV, strengthening its fleet and crewing operations while establishing a presence in three countries
Speaking to Riviera ahead of Posidonia, Heidmar chief executive Pankaj Khanna had said the company was actively pursuing acquisitions "to grow both organically and inorganically."
The acquisition of Q-Shipping BV will add nine vessels to Heidmar’s managed fleet and establish an operational presence in the Netherlands and Türkiye, while also providing a dedicated crewing capability in Ukraine. The additional fleet is understood to comprise a mix of bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, and chemical/product tankers.
The transaction was completed for a total consideration of approximately US$0.2M, funded from cash on hand, and closed on 1 July 2026, with no regulatory approvals or other post-closing conditions outstanding.
"This acquisition is a clear example of how we intend to grow Heidmar, adding vessels and expanding into new markets with minimal capital and immediate operational upside," Mr Khanna said.
"Overnight, we gain a management presence in the Netherlands and Türkiye, together with an experienced crewing operation in Ukraine, giving us both the platform and the people to take on additional mandates and expand our managed fleet across the region," he added.
"It is a small investment with significant strategic value, and it reflects the disciplined, capital-efficient approach we are taking to build the company."
In a social media post, Q-Shipping BV said the acquisition would enable the combined business to offer clients a much broader range of services under one roof, "something we simply could not offer on our own."
"The team remains in place, and we’re ready for the next chapter with our new colleagues," the company added.
Following the acquisition, Heidmar manages approximately 50 vessels under commercial management and 16 under technical management.
The company said the acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to management fee revenue and follows a period of strong operational and financial momentum, further advancing the growth strategy it has pursued throughout 2026.
