Israeli owner acquires SEACOR Marine fast supply vessel

Danchor reported it has acquired the DP2-class fast supply intervention vessel (FSIV) Paula from SEACOR Marine.

The Israeli offshore vessel owner has a fleet of FSIVs, tugs, a dive boat, multi-cat and oil spill barge to support offshore oil and gas, marine pollution and firefighting, commercial diving and other marine projects.

Given the rising tensions in the Middle East, Danchor noted in a social media post, that the “process was carried out with professionalism, respect and impressive efficiency.” Added the Israeli owner, “Given the complex security situation in the Red Sea region, we had to adapt quickly to a constantly changing reality.”

One of the world’s largest container lines, Maersk had temporarily suspended vessel calls at the Port of Haifa on 20 June due to the risks arising from the Israel-Iran conflict.

Danchor thanked private security company Neptune P2P Group, crew management firm ORCA Crew Services, class society ABS, flag authority Marshall Islands and insurance broker Phoenix Insurance for their support in the transfer.

Built in 2009 and flying the Marshall Islands flag, the FSIV is the former Paula McCall, previously owned by SEACOR Marine, according to Equasis. On 24 June, the 53-m vessel was located in the Eastern Mediterranean near Haifa, according to vessel positioning service Marine Traffic.

As OSJ previously reported, Houston-based SEACOR Marine had disclosed the sale of two PSVs and a fast supply vessel for a total of US$33M at the end of April. Seabrokers reported the SEACOR Marine PSVs were acquired by ADNOC L&S and transferred to Al Gafai Marine Services Co.
