Kongsberg Digital (KDI) has partnered with IKM Instrutek to provide condition monitoring to shipowners and operators
IKM Instrutek’s sensors and services will be available through KDI’s Vessel Insight cloud-based platform which collects data on board the vessel and transfers this securely to an online storage facility.
Shipping companies will be able to use IKM Instrutek’s condition-monitoring services through KDI’s Kognifai marketplace, which holds several other third-party, customer-owned and Kongsberg applications.
KDI executive vice president for the digital ocean Andreas Jagtøyen said IKM Instrutek will provide equipment and services related to lifecycle management of critical equipment.
“These services, combined with additional services in the KDI ecosystem, have great potential to become a stepping-stone for our customers to enter into a condition-based maintenance strategy for their assets,” said Mr Jagtøyen.
“End users can retrieve, display and store data to secure their vessels’ uptime, having real-time data from critical machinery for evaluation during auto-diagnosis,” said Mr Jagtøyen.
IKM Instrutek machine protection and condition monitoring manager Robert Kaasa said its services are certified by classification societies DNV, ABS and Lloyd`s Register.
“We offer full-range delivery, including surveys, engineering, installation, commissioning, analysis and support,” said Mr Kaasa.
"By identifying early signs of wear, tear and damage, it is possible to plan optimal maintenance, thereby ensuring maximum uptime.”
