Lloyd’s Register (LR) has rolled out management changes to grow its maritime businesses
The classification society has promoted Mark Darley to business director leading its marine and offshore operations. He will also be responsible for managing and expanding LR’s classification, certification and verification services.
In another appointment, Andy McKeran is now in charge of maritime performance services, including the fleet management and fleet optimisation segments of the company and Philippa Charlton is appointed LR’s new chief marketing officer.
LR chief executive Nick Brown said these new appointments will enable it to help shipping companies overcome current and future challenges. “LR recognises that maritime stakeholders must rise to the demands of changing technology and the drive to decarbonise our industry,” said Mr Brown.
“With these three key leadership appointments, combining years of sector and functional knowledge and expertise, we can help our clients address these challenges, working as a trusted advisor and supporting them with the significant investment decisions we must all make in the decade ahead,” he explained.
Mr Darley has more than 20 years in various operational, business and leadership roles in LR across Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. His previous position was chief operating officer for marine and offshore.
“We will be building our compliance products, services and solutions to better support our clients going through transformational change and build future class services that meet their needs,” said Mr Darley.
Mr McKeran joined LR as commercial director for the marine and offshore business in 2019, having spent more than two decades working in the marine, offshore and naval sectors.
Ms Charlton was formerly marketing director of LR’s business assurance division.
