Macduff Shipyards is building a harbour tug for a medium-sized port in southern England to improve the harbour’s capabilities for handling larger vessels.
The Scottish vessel builder is constructing a 16 m tug for Shoreham Port ready for delivery in July this year.
This tug was designed by Macduff Ship Design, which is celebrating its 25-year anniversary this year.
Macduff Shipyards has built a pilot vessel for an operator in Ayr, Scotland and an 11 m trawler-style motor yacht for a private owner this year.
Macduff Ship Design is also designing new vessels for deployment in Canada.
Part of Macduff’s range of designs is a Multi-Mac multi-vessel. Some of these vessels were built by Tor Marine shipyard in Turkey for operations in Saudi Arabia. Macduff also designed a 36.5 m moorings maintenance vessel for the Port of London Authority and a new 14 m mooring and towage workboat built by Cheoy Lee Shipyards.
