MAN Energy Solutions’ service brand PrimeServ has extended its Omnicare services from turbomachinery into the marine and power segments
The service provider will now offer maintenance on both MAN and non-MAN machinery such as engines, turbochargers and related auxiliary equipment.
MAN Energy Solutions head of PrimseServ Omnicare Christian Ludwig said “It’s a natural move for us and one that has been requested for quite some time by our customers. For them, having maintenance on their machinery – whatever the brand – carried out by the same service provider is particularly convenient.
Working on other manufacturers’ equipment is an organic move for us as we are engine designers and manufacturers – we know engines.”
The PrimeServ Omnicare organisation for engines and power is based in Rotterdam from where it will drive a one-stop, global service for customers, using the existing network. Ultimately, customers will be assigned a single team for all maintenance jobs and receive just one bill.
MAN said it has close to 100 engineers in its global network with experience handling non-MAN equipment, giving the company a knowledge base to work from. MAN said it has global agreements in place and confirmation of the viability of the Omnicare concept.
Omnicare provides a maintenance service in the marine and power segments with OEM spare-parts based on global agreements. The service has been offered by MAN’s turbomachinery after-sales division for the last three to four years.
