Manor Renewable Energy’s new crew transfer vessel, Manor Initiative (formerly MPI Cervantes), is undergoing sea trials at the company’s Portland facility.
The company acquired MPI Cervantes and MPI Cardenio earlier in 2019 in order to recondition and modernise them.
The vessels are destined to join Manor Renewable Energy’s fleet of vessels that support offshore windfarms.
The converted vessel was extended from 17 m to 21 m and has been redesigned to maximize deck space, overall cargo-carrying capacity and transit speed.
It now has two new Volvo Penta D13 700 hp engines and is capable of achieving a maximum speed of 28 knots.
MPI Cardenio is currently being extended and having new engines installed and is due to be launched in March 2020. It will be renamed Manor Enterprise.
