UK-based Bibby Marine Services is teaming up with a leading provider of marine services in the US to provide Jones Act-compliant service operation vessels.
The US and UK company have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop vessel solutions specifically for the US offshore wind market.
Resolve has nearly four decades of experience as a Jones Act operator. Bibby is long-established in the UK market, where it owns and operates service operation vessels (SOVs) and provides walk-to-work services. The UK company’s second SOV, Bibby WaveMaster Horizon, was launched earlier this year.
In a statement, the companies said they plan to leverage a customer-service led approach and partner with windfarm owners and turbine suppliers to deliver timely and innovative services.
Their initial focus will be on walk-to-work vessel solutions, but they are also targeting a wider range of multi-faceted solutions including crew transfer vessels, safety training, emergency response and standby services as well as logistical support.
Resolve is a family-owned company that specialises in marine services, compliance, emergency response and wreck removal. The company maintains emergency response operations throughout the US. The Resolve Maritime Academy is one of the largest maritime training facilities in the US.
Bibby Marine Services Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bibby Line Group Limited. Its first vessel, Bibby WaveMaster 1, was delivered in Sept 2017. Sister ship Bibby WaveMaster Horizon is due to be delivered in September 2019.
