Multraship expands Black Sea presence with newbuild tug
A Dutch towage and salvage company has taken delivery of a newbuild tractor tug to bolster its services in Bulgarian ports
Multraship Towage & Salvage has named its latest addition to the fleet operated by its subsidiary Bourgas Tug Service in Bulgaria.
Multratug 30 was built by Sanmar Shipyards in Turkey to provide harbour and coastal towage and emergency response from the port of Bourgas in the Black Sea. It was built to a Robert Allan Ltd TRAktor-Z 2500SX design with around 80 tonnes of bollard pull and a FiFi1 fire-fighting system.
“This investment reflects our confidence in the Black Sea region and our long-term commitment to serving its growing maritime industry,” said Multraship managing director Leendert Muller.
“It is a region with real potential, and we intend to be at the forefront of its development.”
The Netherlands-headquartered Multraship said its Bulgarian subsidiary is “boosting the company’s capacity for harbour and offshore towage in the region, while also strengthening its capabilities in salvage and emergency response” through its investment in Multratug 30.
This 25-m tug was built for harbour and deepsea towage and emergence response. It was named on 14 November at the ferry passenger terminal in Bourgas by Miglena Pendjuroff, wife of Bourgas Tug Service general manager Dimiter Pendjuroff.
“Multratug 30 is a very welcome addition to our fleet, giving us greater flexibility and strength to support our customers,” said Mr Pendjuroff.
This ceremony was held after Multraship celebrated 20 years of service in the Black Sea region in October 2025.
“With Multratug 30 now in service, we continue to expand and modernise our fleet, strengthening our role as a leading towage and emergency response provider,” said Multraship.
