With its centenary approaching, Italian water treatment company appoints new chief executive officer of its technologies group
Italian ballast water treatment technology manufacturer De Nora has named Dr Mirka Wilderer chief executive officer of the company’s Water Technologies group.
Dr Wilderer replaces retiring predecessor Theo Brandes, who joined De Nora in February 2019 as global integration director.
De Nora Water Technologies division handles the group’s disinfection and filtration technologies, and has offices in Europe, United States, Japan, China, Singapore, and Brazil.
“We are thrilled to have Mirka on the De Nora management team,” said De Nora’s chief executive, Paolo Dellachà.
“She brings years of success applying innovative solutions to leading change and managing business transformation. I’m confident that her exceptional leadership skills and a gift for fostering cross-functional collaboration will be a perfect fit for our growing Water Technologies business. As we approach De Nora’s 100-year anniversary, Mirka’s demonstrated success, enthusiasm, and entrepreneurial mindset is the fresh approach we need to achieve our goals and lead us into another century of providing sustainable technologies.”
Born and raised in Germany, Dr Wilderer has 15 years of water industry experience in numerous countries in Europe and Asia, moving to the United States in 2009. She holds a doctorate in international management.
“I’ve spent my life surrounded by people with a passion and pride for caring for water, beginning with my parents who were devoted water professionals,” said Dr Wilderer.
“With a real passion for international management, I am delighted to be a part of a company with a truly global footprint – a presence around the world including emerging markets like China, Japan and Brazil. I am honoured to be part of the De Nora team, known for its reliability and responsiveness to our customers. My vision for De Nora Water Technologies is to surge ahead in the market by leveraging the talents, experience, and commitment of our global team.”
