New pumps, water heaters unveiled

Gianneschi has revealed new centrifugal pumps for water circulation on tugs, workboats and other vessels. The Italian manufacturer developed its CB range with the pump body and impeller made in bronze, an electric motor with a stainless-steel shaft, threaded flanged connections, options to include a variable frequency drive, which is suitable for hot water and glycol mixes. 

The threaded pumps have power capacity of 0.2 kW on DC or AC 50 Hz to pump 0.6 m3/hr, up to 1.5 kW for AC 60 Hz to pump up to 32 m³/hr. The flanged version ranges from 1.1 kW to 7.5 kW for pumping up to 300 m³/hr.

Gianneschi chief executive Alessandro Gianneschi says there are several applications including pumping seawater, circulating water, as a feed pump for stabilisers and for water desalination.

He also introduced a new range of water heaters with the smallest at 22 litres and the largest 2,500 litres. The standard maximum working pressure is 6 bar with a maximum temperature of 90ºC but they are tested to 9 bar before chemical treatment. They have high-density, anti-condensation polyethylene insulation and external cladding in polished stainless steel.

Those used for marine applications are made from stainless steel and can be customised for length and diameter, Mr Gianneschi explained at the Seawork exhibition in Southampton, UK.
