Thun Tankers has taken delivery of the 18,650 dwt IBC code type II chemical and product tanker Thun Liverpool
Thun Liverpool is the third in a series of five L-class tankers built by Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd in China.
The L-class series have been designed and developed in-house at Erik Thun group. The new tanker will enter into the Gothia Tanker Alliance network with crewing and technical management performed by MF Shipping Group.

Design draft: 9.4 m
Summer draft: 8.4 m
Capacity: 18,650 dwt
Cubic capacity: 21,083 m3
Thun Liverpool has 12 cargo tanks coated with Jotun Tankguard Special Ultra. Each tank is equipped with a Framo submerged hydraulic deep-well pump with a double valve giving full segregation. Each Framo cargo pump has a capacity of 2,400m2/hour and has a built in stripping function. Cargo heating is provided by on-deck hot water heaters with a capacity of 450 kW per tank. Each cargo tank is fitted with two Scanjet single nozzle cleaning machines. The cleaning machine can use cargo or the hot water, operating at a pressure of 8 bar and a flow rate of 11.5 m3/hour.
Heinen Hopman provides the cargo ventilation (capacity of 30,000 m3) and Scanjet supplied the P/V valves. The ballast water treatment system is from Scandinavian counterpart Alfa Laval.
The main engine is a Wärtsilä 8L32 rated at 4,480 Kw (at 720 rpm) driving a Wärtsilä controlled pitch propeller via a water-lubricated Wärtsilä stern tube. Emergency propulsion is provided by a 630 kW Framo hydraulic motor.
The new delivery takes the number of live vessels in the Thun fleet to 38, including 16 tankers with six tankers on order or recently delivered. The Gothia Tanker Alliance consists of seven partners: Furetank, Thun Tankers, Wisby Tankers, Älvtank, Uni-Tankers, OHM, and DSD Shipping.
