Singapore-listed Nam Cheong Limited has launched 64.8-m anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel SK Arctik at its Miri Yard in Sarawak in Malaysia
Dynamic positioning class 2 capable, the AHTS vessel has an overall length of 64.8 m, beam of 16 m, draft of 5.4 m, bollard pull of 80 tonnes, clear deck space of 420 m3 and accommodation for 50.
Main propulsion for SK Arctik will be supplied by two Rolls-Royce US 255P30CP controllable-pitch stern azimuth thrusters, with added manoeuvrability provided by two Rolls-Royce TT1650 DPN CP bow tunnel thrusters providing a top speed of 14 knots.
Norway-based Stadt supplied the diesel-electric AHTS vessel’s AC drive solution for controlling electrical motor loads. The scope of Stadt’s electrical package includes the Stadt Lean Drive for main propulsion, main propulsion motors, DN starter for the tunnel thruster, thruster motors, emergency switchboard, power management system and distribution transformers.
Designated Hull No SK 903, SK Arctik is the 10th NC80E design diesel-electric AHTS vessel built by the shipyard since 2015.
