The Business Network for Offshore Wind has confirmed that it has decided to postpone its popular International Partnering Forum (IPF), which was due to take place next month, to August but will hold a ‘virtual’ event in April to disseminate time-urgent information
In a statement, the network said it had been closely monitoring developments and pursuing all measures to keep IPF attendees safe. “Our highest priority has been to find a way forward that ensures everyone remains safe as we continue to work together for the success of offshore wind globally,” it said.
“The network and its board of directors have decided to move IPF to August. However, IPF contains time-sensitive content you may need to plan your business. We are making this information available virtually in April.
“This two-pronged course of action, Virtual First, Together Second, provides everyone the opportunity to fully experience the two hallmarks of the IPF conference – its valuable educational content and its networking.
“First, we will host IPF Virtual, 21–22 April, delivering the most time-sensitive information on the US offshore wind market. This virtual event is open to all registered attendees and a final schedule will be posted no later than 20 March 2020. The content will also be posted to a password-protected IPF webpage.
“Second, we will host IPF Together, 18-21 August 2020 in Providence, Rhode Island, delivering the additional elements of the event, including plenaries, more workshops, the trade show exhibit hall, WindMatch and other networking opportunities, CareerMatch job fair, and tours. The plenaries and workshops will also be recorded and posted to the password protected IPF webpage following the conference.”
Business Network for Offshore Wind president and chief executive Liz Burdock said, “This decision was not made lightly. We are working hard to adapt and adjust to these difficult times by delivering a new IPF Virtual as well as offer the valuable in-person networking we know you all look forward to each year.”
