MMA Offshore has ordered a new motion-compensating gangway for one of its vessels supporting a major subsea installation project in Australia
MMA Offshore will upgrade one of its vessels with a 15-m long gangway from Undertun Industri to support TechnipFMC on the subsea construction project on a gas field development in northwest Australia. It has hired the motion-compensating gangway from Undertun for Q3 and Q4 in 2021, enabling MMA Offshore to provide a vessel and barge support service.
Undertun plans to sub-contract Tensa Equipment to supervise the installation and commissioning and provide training to MMA Offshore crew to operate the gangway at sea. Tensa has previously previously provided MMA Offshore and TechnipFMC with a 12-m gangway for other Australian projects.
In Norway, Solstad Offshore has gained a long-term contract for its platform supply vessel Sea Flyer from TAQA Bratani to provide supplies to TAQA’s UK North Sea production assets for at least two years, starting in July 2021 as TAQA continues to extend their lifetime through onward investment.
