Nexans has secured a framework agreement with RTE for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of HVDC cables for the Centre Manche 1 & 2 and Oléron offshore windfarms
The framework agreement covers the supply of 450 km of high-voltage subsea cables and 280 km of high-voltage onshore cables that will be used to connect the windfarms to the grid.
The framework agreement is valued at in excess of €1Bn.
Nexans chief executive Christopher Guérin said the agreement with RTE “reinforces Nexans’ position in the energy transition in Europe.” He continued, “By delivering transmission solutions, we are not only supporting France’s ambitious offshore wind targets but also strengthening the resilience and sustainability of the power grid.”
Nexans EVP power transmission Pascal Radue said, “We are proud to be awarded this frame agreement. It not only reinforces our strong partnership with RTE but demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting France’s ambitious offshore wind and energy transition goals.”
