An AD Ports subsidiary has secured a long-term contract to provide marine services at an LNG terminal in Bahrain
Noatum Maritime Marine Services has clinched a contract from Bapco Upstream to provide marine services at an LNG terminal in Bahrain for five years.
The subsidiary of AD Ports Group’s maritime and shipping cluster will support gas carriers berthing at the Bahrain LNG import terminal (BLNG) under this agreement. The offshore LNG terminal, located near Khalifa Bin Salman Port, supplies the kingdom with reliable energy supplies as gas demand rises in Bahrain.
“This agreement marks an important milestone in Bapco Upstream’s efforts to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy infrastructure and ensure a diversified supply of natural gas,” said Bapco Upstream chief executive Johann Pleininger.
“Partnering with Noatum Maritime brings world-class marine capabilities to support operations at the LNG terminal, reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence, safety and sustainability as we expand into the LNG value chain.”
For Bapco Upstream, a subsidiary of Bapco Energies Group, Noatum will provide towage operations using LNG-compliant tugboats; berth and undock LNG carriers and floating storage units; 24/7 emergency response and standby support; and ship pilotage.
“Securing this contract marks our strategic entry into the LNG terminal towage sector,” said AD Ports Group chief executive for the maritime and shipping cluster Ammar Mubarak al Shaiba.
“It represents a significant step in our continued efforts to diversify and expand our operational footprint. By extending our capabilities into LNG terminals while maintaining our strong foundation in port services, we are unlocking new synergies that position us for growth,” said Capt al Shaiba.
