Ocean Installer awarded sizeable decom contract by TotalEnergies

Moreld, which owns Ocean Installer, defines a ‘sizeable’ contract as between NKr100M (US$10M)and NKr500M (US$51M) in value.

The contract from TotalEnergies includes recovery of around 1,000 tonnes of subsea infrastructure.

The project scope includes engineering, extensive dredging operations, recovery of the subsea structures and pipelines, and transportation to shore for disposal. 

Most of the recovered equipment will be recycled or reused. 

The offshore campaign is scheduled for execution in 2027.

Ocean Installer chief executive Kevin Murphy said, “With this award, we continue to broaden Ocean Installer’s decommissioning track record, applying the same kind of engineering, project execution discipline and offshore capability that define our core business.”

Moreld chief executive Geir Austigard said the deal demonstrates Ocean Installer’s ability to deliver end-of-life projects. He noted that decommissioning is expected to be a growing market.
