A new round of offshore vessels have secured employment
Solstad’s platform supply vessels (PSVs) Normand Server, Normand Supporter and Normand Fortune will go on long-term contracts to ConocoPhillips Skandinavia. All three vessels are equipped with battery-hybrid systems in addition to shore power and have been on contract for ConocoPhillips since 2018. The new contracts will extend their activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf until Q1/Q2 2027.
Eidesvik’s PSV Viking Prince was been awarded a contract with Equinor Energy for a firm period of six months with options for further extensions, commencing in April/May 2022.
Viking Prince was upgraded with a battery-hybrid system and a shore-power system in January this year.
Equinor has also awarded Shearwater GeoServices two contracts. The first covers a large 4D ocean bottom node baseline project by Equinor. The two-month survey covers the Krafla, Askja and Sentral fields in the Norwegian North Sea.
More than 7,000 nodes, using an ocean bottom ’nodes-on-a-rope’ system, will be utilised for the 363-km2 receiver area survey. This will be the largest project of its type performed by Shearwater to date. The survey will be conducted by the vessels SW Vespucci, SW Cook and SW Tasman, with start-up around June 2022.
The second award pertains to a 4D seismic monitor project at Equinor’s Mariner field offshore UK. This will be the third Isometrix survey over the field and the second 4D monitor survey. The one-month project will be executed during the 2022 North Sea summer season.
And finally, Siem Offshore has entered into a new contract for Siem Spearfish with an as yet unknown party in the UK sector. The contract will commence in direct continuation of its current commitment, securing continued utilisation well into Q2 2022.
The scope of work consists of walk-to-work operations for accommodation support during a maintenance campaign.
