Singapore’s Pavilion Gas has landed a contract to supply LNG bunker fuel to PSA Marine’s LNG-fuelled tugs starting 2019.
The clean gas will be supplied to two dual-fuel LNG harbour tugs, currently under construction and scheduled for delivery in 2019. The tugs are owned and operated by PSA Marine.
Pavilion Gas chief executive Seah Moon Ming said “This is an important step forward for Pavilion Gas as LNG bunkering is a key driver for LNG demand growth. We look forward to playing a key role in developing the LNG bunkering ecosystem in Singapore and the region.”
PSA Marine recently entered into a contract to build one dual-fuel LNG harbor tug and will be awarding a second newbuild contract for a similar vessel in January 2018.
PSA Marine will benefit from up to S$2M (US$1.5M) grant for each newbuild tug from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, under an initiative to promote LNG bunkering via ship construction projects.
