Marine seismic contractor Polarcus Limited has been awarded an XArray seismic acquisition project in Malaysia
The Malaysia-based project commences in December 2019 for a duration of four months and will utilize Polarcus’ XArray multi-source acquisition system, a hybrid combination of towed streamers and ocean-bottom nodes.
The company did not reveal further details about the Malaysia project but said that, with the contract, its fleet is fully booked through the early part of the second quarter in 2020.
News of the latest project comes following Polarcus signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in early November with Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS) for collaboration on marine seismic projects in the Middle East and North Africa.
In October, Polarcus announced that the company has secured pre-funding for a multi-client project in Australia. The project will commence in Q4 2019 with an approximate duration of two months.
