Norway-based Solstad Offshore has been awarded several contracts to charter platform supply vessels in the Middle East and Mediterranean
The contract for the VS 470 Mk II design platform supply vessel (PSV) Far Swan has been extended for one year, to support drilling operations in the Middle East to Q4 2021. Built in 2006, 73.4-m Far Swan is a highly capable support vessel, with 703.8 m2 of deck area and tank capacity for 775 m3 of potable water, 714 m3 of drilling water and 1,072 m3 of drilling mud.
Outside the Middle East, Solstad Offshore reported that the contract for the PX 105 design PSV Sea Spark has been extended by six months to July 2020 to support drilling operations in the Mediterranean. Built in 2013 in China, 89-m Sea Spark has a deck area of 1,010 m2, with tank capacity for 2,191 m3 of drilling water and 870 m3 of mud.
In addition, the PSVs Normand Surfer and Normand Supra have been contracted by Italy’s Saipem, also for work in the Mediterranean. The contracts will start in December for a firm period of 60 days each.
