Classification society RINA is purchasing the entire share capital of Denmark-headquartered Logimatic Solutions, which provides digital solutions for shipping
RINA said its acquisition was part of a strategic plan to boost its knowledge of digital solutions in maritime and other sectors.
With offices in Denmark, Singapore and Chile, Logimatic has developed software for improving business sustainability and operational efficiencies.
Logimatic’s Sertica will be added to RINA’s portfolio of maritime offerings, while Inextia, Fotodok and Renomatic will complement RINA’s businesses in the energy and industrial sectors.
“Logimatic’s business is a perfect fit for us, as it complements our technical offering of digital applications and improves our market positioning in terms of geographic proximity to our customer base,” said RINA chief executive Ugo Salerno.
Sertica fleet management software integrates a wide range of functions, modules and features for all areas of maritime business. It incorporates fleet maintenance and procurement management modules to develop deeper insights into fleet operations, for monitoring, control and cost savings and has a module covering health, safety, quality and environmental matters.
“Sertica fleet management software is already installed on over 1,400 vessels worldwide,” said Mr Salerno.
“It extends our capabilities and is a powerful and beneficial addition to the tools we already provide to our customers in the maritime industry.”
This acquisition provides RINA with highly rated personnel with combined market, technical and IT expertise. It also places the business in a stronger position in the northern European area to complement its position in southern Europe.
Logimatic chief executive Lars Riisberg said the company’s personnel will “continue to support and grow Sertica in co-operation with RINA, with the same professional, yet informal approach.”
