Seajacks Japan LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seajacks International, has been awarded a turbine installation contract by Kajima Corporation
The contract will see the company transport and install 33 MHI Vestas V117 – 4.2 MW wind turbine generators for the Akita Port and Noshiro Port offshore windfarms.
Installation is scheduled to commence in 2022. Seajacks Zaratan will continue to be utilised on the project once it has completed the foundation installation campaign in 2021.
Seajacks chief operating officer Sebastian Brooke said, “We are very pleased to have been awarded our first turbine installation contract in Japan and are excited to extend our involvement in this ground-breaking project.
