Hamburg-based shipbroker Waterworks Offshore has rebranded and is to focus on finance for the fast-growing offshore renewables market
Having focused primarily on the chartering and S&P offshore market until now, Waterworks has reorientated itself as a finance institution for shipping companies working in the renewables industry and is planning to develop innovative ship finance solutions for what it describes as “a market thirsty for a new approach.”
Managing director Sven Boedewig said, “We believe the offshore renewables market needs ship finance solutions that match the innovative and disruptive nature of energy transition.
“We will develop attractive, flexible solutions with our finance partners and private equity network, enabling owners to obtain finance while providing investors with an opportunity to find sustainable investment opportunities.”
To reflect the company’s new focus, Waterworks Offshore Services is rebranding to Waterworks Offshore Concepts.
Partner Valentin Hartmann said, “Green ship financing needs new solutions for owners and investors alike, solutions that will provide them with flexibility and security.”
The company has already brokered its first finance deals in the offshore renewables market. Chartering, S&P and newbuilding services will continue to be offered to the company’s existing clients to complement finance transactions.
