Siemens Gamesa signs two-vessel agreement with PKR Offshore

PKR Offshore, a subsidiary of Marco Polo Marine, said the CSOVs will support offshore wind projects in Taiwan and, potentially, across the wider Asia Pacific region.

The agreement will run from 2029 for an initial two-year period, with an option to commence in 2028. It includes options for multi-year extensions. 

Under the agreement, PKR Offshore will provide Siemens Gamesa with two of its new CSOVs to support offshore wind projects in Taiwan on a non-exclusive basis. The parties will also work together to deploy the CSOVs on Siemens Gamesa projects in South Korea and Japan. 

The vessels will be equipped with Siemens Energy’s BlueDrive PlusC hybrid propulsion system, which is designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and enable cleaner and more efficient offshore operations.

PKR Offshore already owns and operates one CSOV, Wind Archer, which entered in to its first charter contract in April 2025. A second CSOV, built to the company’s ‘CSOV Plus’ design, is currently under construction at Marco Polo Marine’s shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2028. The third unit is currently still in planning phase.
