Solstad Offshore has signed a long-term contract with TAQA Bratani Limited (TAQA) for the platform supply vessel (PSV) Sea Flyer to operate in the UK North Sea
The PSV will support TAQA’s UK North Sea assets for a firm period of two years, starting in July 2021.
Built by China’s Zhejiang Shipbuilding in 2013, Sea Flyer is an Ulstein PX 105 design, with an overall length of 88.9 m, beam of 19.7 m, clear deck area of 1,023 m2, and deck load capacity of 2,537 tonnes. Dynamic positioning class 2-capable, the PSV can accommodate 26 in 19 cabins and has a deadweight capacity of 4,419.
This contract follows one announced earlier in the month for Normand Starling, which was secured by Shell Brasil for two years as a direct continuation of its current support activities in the Brazil offshore market. The new contract will extend the PSV’s employment to April 2023.
Built in 2013 in Vietnam by STX OSV Vung Tau, Normand Starling is a PSV 08 CD design, with an overall length of 81.7 m, beam of 18 m, clear deck area of 810 m2 and deck load capacity of 2,500 tonnes. DP 2-capable, the PSV is built to DNV class and can accommodate 30.
