Strategic partnership formed for workboat fleet construction

Lysgaard ShipHolding will own a fleet of workboats after signing an agreement with a European vessel builder. Tuco Marine will construct the workboats at its facilities in Faaborg, Denmark for the Danish vessel owner from its ProZero series, and they will be made available for bareboat charters on flexible terms.

Lysgaard chief executive Carina Breiting signed the strategic partnership with Tuco Marine’s chief executive Jonas Pedersen at its office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Tuco Marine said the first ProZero vessel available for charter under this partnership is already in production at its shipyard. This is a ProZero 11-m fast rescue daughter craft, with dual-diesel installations and waterjets, which can support standby and rescue operations.

Previous vessels built to this design are operating in Angola, the Netherlands, the UAE and the UK. Others of different ProZero series designs are used to support offshore windfarms and operations in ports and terminals.

Tuco said operators and owners can charter ProZero workboats from Lysgaard for short-term projects, to ensure operational continuity, or if there is a shortage of available workboats.

It said this new service responds to the market’s increasing demand for flexibility and rapid access to reliable workboats.

This partnership broadens market penetration for both Lysgaard, which previously owned two chemical carriers, Bitten Theresa and Dagmar Theresa, and Tuco.
