Diverse shipping company Union Maritime has taken delivery of a 113,000-dwt Aframax tanker from COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)
In what COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) said is a unique occurrence for the shipyard, Aframax tanker Stirling weighed anchor and left the shipyard for its first voyage immediately after delivery.
COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry also reported the shipowner’s supervision team sent a letter of thanks to the project team for their professional team management, efficient co-ordination, excellent technical level and strong sense of responsibility during the ship’s construction.
Stirling is 250 m long, 44 m wide with a design draft of 13.5 m and a structure draft of 15 m. The design speed is 14.3 knots, and the vessel is classified by Lloyd’s Register.
Union Maritime is a UK-based shipowner, operator and commercial shipmanager. The company operates a diversified fleet covering crude oil, clean products and dry bulk cargoes.
The company’s 50-strong fleet consists of 40 tankers, including 13 Aframax tankers, eight dry bulk carriers and two OSVs.
