V.Group has launched a risk analysis tool to ensure vessels under its management are ready for port state control (PSC) inspection
The PSC Performance Analyser uses operational data from over 1,000 PSC inspections per year to support the V.Group fleet in delivering 83% of port state control inspections up to the end of Q2 2020.
The tool highlights the risks facing vessels to allow them to take proactive steps to ensure operational safety. The new platform compliments a suite of measures and developments in recent months to enhance pre-arrival processes, such as the pre-PSC arrival checklist recently recognised by Panama and Liberia flag state authorities.
V.Group global head of health, safety, environment and quality Mike Bradshaw said “With a constantly evolving environment, the need to drive vessel safety and environmentally compliant operations has never been greater. Our new platform uses technology and our own in-depth knowledge to provide data to help make the decisions that matter, maximising operational efficiency on behalf of our customers.”
Mr Bradshaw said the PSC Performance Analyser tool can look back over past performance but also looks ahead, highlighting potential risks prior to arrival to ensure all management processes are prepared and ready in the destination country.
The tool can monitor trends by country and individual ports and breaks the data down by office/fleet/customer with performance analysed by class society and by flag state. With a view to promoting safety, the platform presents data in an interactive dashboard to ensure vessels are ready for inspection ahead of arrival in port.
The launch of this new platform comes weeks after the announcement of V.Group’s new risk-based SIRE Performance analysis platform.
