Cyan Renewables and Ocean Infinity have joined forces to provide geophysical and geotechnical surveys for offshore windfarms in the Asia Pacific region
The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding formalising their relationship which, in addition to geophysical and geotechnical surveys, will provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) inspection and consultancy services for offshore wind projects.
Ocean Infinity is known for uncrewed surface vessels (USVs), underwater technology and data analytics. Owned by Seraya Partners, Singapore-based Cyan Renewables is a vessel operator focused on the offshore renewables space. The partnership combines Cyan Renewables’ local networks in Asia with Ocean Infinity’s marine data services.
Cyan Renewables chief executive Lee Keng Lin said, “Remote technology will transform operations at sea and play a key role in the shipping industry’s path towards net zero. Through this partnership, we hope to continue contributing to the development of offshore wind as well as zero-emissions shipping in the region.” The company’s chairman James Chern said the partnership with Ocean Infinity “reflects a shared commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the renewable energy sector.”
Ocean Infinity commercial director Maxime Even said teaming up with Cyan Renewables will enable the company to “turbocharge” its efforts in the Asia Pacific region and bring its technology to offshore wind projects there. “It’s all about pushing boundaries by bringing in new tech and leaving a lasting impact with better results for end clients,” he said.
Ocean Infinity’s lean-crewed ship Armada 7804 visited Singapore in mid-May and is due to begin its commercial projects in the region shortly, serving as a platform for geophysical and shallow geotechnical surveys in the offshore renewable energy and oil and gas industries.
