The hull of Olympic’s second commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) has arrived at Ulstein Verft in Norway for outfitting
The hull of yard number 319, Olympic’s second Twin X-Stern CSOV, arrived at Ulstein Verft in Norway on 8 May 2024, having been towed from the Crist yard in Poland.
In 2022, Olympic and Ulstein signed a contract for the design and construction of two CSOVs of the Ulstein SX222 design from Ulstein Design & Solutions.
The hulls of both vessels were constructed by the Crist yard. Ulstein Verft is responsible for the construction project as a whole, including electrical and mechanical installations, piping, accommodation and system integration.
On arrival at Ulstein Verft, the vessel was towed into the dock hall where the paint work will be completed. Commissioning and testing will take place in the coming months.
The CSOVs will have a 3D motion-compensated walk-to-work gangway and crane. They will provide accommodation for 126 windfarm technicians and crew and have diesel-electric propulsion systems augmented by a battery energy storage systems.
