JDR has been awarded a contract by Parkwind to supply, test and terminate 33-kV subsea cables for the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore windfarm in Germany
The company will supply 45 km of 33-kV array cable that will connect 27 wind turbines in the windfarm. It will also provide technicians, tooling and test equipment for the testing and termination of the array cable.
The project is located approximately 19 km northeast of the island Rügen in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and will have a capacity of 257 MW. This windfarm will be Parkwind’s fifth, bringing its operational capacity under management to over 1 GW.
The cables will be manufactured at JDR’s facility in Hartlepool in the UK, where they will be picked up by the cable installation contractor for installation in Germany in 2022.
