Esso Angola has awarded an integrated marine services contract to Danish offshore support vessel owner Maersk Supply Service to support offshore drilling and production operations offshore Angola in Block 15
Under the contract, Maersk Supply Service will provide project management, engineering and marine services. The dynamic positioning class 2-capable subsea support vessel (SSV) Maersk Forza will perform the offshore marine operations, including offshore field maintenance support, deepwater active heave compensation (AHC) precision lifting, and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations for the installation of subsea and other marine equipment.
Built in 2008, Maersk Forza is a diesel-electric multi-purpose SSV, with an overall length of 108 m, beam of 22 m, depth of 9 m, draught of 7 m, with a deadweight of 6,578 tonnes. It has a 250-tonne capacity Hydramarine AHC crane and two Kystdesign Supporter work-class ROVs, with accommodation for 120.
Maersk Forza will be delivered in Q3 2022 and the crews and project teams are currently being assembled in preparation.
