Data Modul has introduced a 24in touchscreen for bridge systems. The type 6024 ID monitor has thin-film transistor (TFT) in-plane switching (IPS) technology. This enables an accurate representation of image details such as colour gradients and authentic colour reproduction, said product manager Doris Beetz.
The integrated 24in WUXGA panel has 1920x1200 pixels. “It has colour performance and image clarity at all viewing angles, which is particularly important in professional imaging applications,” she said. It supports multiple input types using Data Modul’s own standard electronic platform ST1:3. The controller board is based on a ST Microelectronics chip with picture enhancement technology.
“For user-friendly operations we decided to use a multi-PCAP touchscreen and intelligent capacitive buttons as the main controls,” said Ms Beetz. “Both are protected from moisture and dirt by means of a cover glass with antiglare treatment to significantly reduce reflection.
“The improved touch accuracy guarantees fast response time in marine applications. The touchscreen function can be temporarily deactivated via a specific USB link controller board, which is consistently an essential requirement in critical applications.” The new IP54 rated 24in PCAP touch monitor is also optimised for stable daily operation in various environments, and its heavy-duty aluminium housing is corrosion-resistant. The slim design facilitates installation in areas where space is restricted.
