Rimorchiatori Napoletani has added a new tug to its fleet in Naples, Italy. Marechiaro is a Sirapinar-series tugboat built by Sanmar shipyard in Turkey.
This 22.4 m tug is of a RAmparts 2400 SX design which is larger than Sanmar’s Bogacay series of tugs. It is one of two tugs of the same specification that Sanmar is building for Rimorchiatori Napoletani.
Marechiaro has a beam of 10.9 m and maximum draught of 4.7 m. It is classed by RINA and meets Italian flag requirements.
It has a pair of 1500 kW Caterpillar engines and Schottel azimuthing rudderpropellers. All this provides Marechiaro with a top speed of 12.6 knots and a bollard pull of 50 tonnes.
