Decarbonising bulk carriers with hydrogen fuel cells and wind-assisted propulsion

Date: Friday 4 March - Time: 11:00-11:45 GMT

WATCH NOW

Research has demonstrated the potential for liquid hydrogen fuel cells to replace fossil fuels and the energy-saving and emissions-reduction potential of wind assisted propulsion. Combined, these two technologies could create zero-emission vessels, and bulk carriers are seen as especially well suited with only minor changes to operations. This webinar will critically assess the technical, operational and commercial suitability of this approach for bulk carriers.

Join us as we discuss

  • Fuel storage space requirements
  • Refuelling infrastructure
  • Wind assisted propulsion
  • Operational changes
  • CAPEX and OPEX

Panellists:

Elise Georgeff, Associate Researcher, ICCT

Lena Halvari, Director, Wind Propulsion Systems, Yara Marine Technologies AS

Gavin Allwright, Secretary General, International Windship Association (IWSA)
