Ben Palmer has been appointed by Inmarsat to head up its maritime business division
Mr Palmer will become president of the maritime business unit on 8 November as Inmarsat begins to implement its recently announced Orchestra and Elera networks.
He was recently head of Northrop Grumman’s mission systems division across Europe.
Mr Palmer brings 25 years’ experience of driving transformational change in technology-heavy industries including maritime.
He will replace Ronald Spithout who has been with Inmarsat since 1988, including his time at Stratos, Xantic and Station 12. Mr Spithout has helped with the rollout of Fleet Xpress and spearheaded the digitalisation of shipping.
