Lila Global appoints chief maritime strategy and innovation officer

The appointment is effective immediately, and Dr Rahim will be based in Dubai.

Dr Rahim has more than 30 years of experience, including in senior leadership roles at ClassNK in Tokyo, Singapore, London, Mumbai and Dubai, and as chairman of the NAPA Group in Finland. He is a prolific researcher with more than 120 technical papers, holding degrees from Cochin University of Science and Technology and Hiroshima University.

His accolades include the joint RINA-SNAME-IMarEST Institute Branch Award (2004), the Stanley Grey Medal (2005), the Maritime Personality of the Year Award (2017), and the Maritime Professional Excellence Award (2023).

Lila Global founder Dr Anil Sharma said Dr Rahim’s expertise will help redefine the industry through sustainability, operational excellence and technological leadership. Dr Rahim said he is excited to join Lila Global and tackle industry challenges.
