A new boss at MacGregor plans to accelerate development and build on the company’s strong foundations
Jonas Gustavsson has been promoted to the position of chief executive at MacGregor, as of 1 August 2025, replacing Leif Byström who is retiring.
Mr Gustavsson joined MacGregor in March 2025 as deputy president after the acquisition of the crane manufacturer by investment group Triton.
He previously served as chief executive of Afry since 2017 and before that, held various senior roles at Sandvik, Rotax, Bombardier and ABB.
“Together, we will build on our strong foundation, accelerate our development, and continue to deliver lifetime value to our customers worldwide,” said Mr Gustavsson.
The company plans to strengthen its market position in sustainable maritime cargo handling and offshore machinery.
