Watson Farley & Williams assets and structured-finance partner Emily Widdrington is moving from London, UK to Dubai, UAE to strengthen the law firm’s ship finance practice in the Middle East
Emily Widdrington will move to Dubai in August after 12 years’ experience with Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advising banks and shipowners on issues such as loan and security documentation and incorporating financings to loan agreements involving sustainability-linked margin adjustments.
A 2023 highlight was acting for MSC to finance two new LNG-powered cruise ships. Another was acting for a consortium of lenders on a US$1Bn term and revolving credit facility for Scorpio Tankers to finance 45 product tankers, and Navigator on a US$200M sustainability and gender diversity-linked loan.
Ms Widdrington will join partner Michael Savva and a WFW team advising on shipping finance in the UAE, including WFW Dubai office head Charlotte Bijlani.
