Purus appoints Håkon Vevang as chief commercial officer

Purus operates a growing fleet of service operation vessels and commissioning service operation vessels and also operates ammonia and LPG carriers.

Mr Vevang, a well-known figure in the Norwegian offshore vessel sector, will oversee commercial chartering and sale and purchase operations for the company’s offshore oil and gas and offshore wind divisions. 

He brings two decades of experience in the offshore wind and shipping sectors, having served as a shipbroker at Lorentzen & Stemoco, Chartering Manager for Renewables at Østensjø Rederi.

Most recently, Mr Vevang was chief commercial officer at Edda Wind, one of the leading owner/operators of vessels for the offshore wind market.

Purus has also promoted Bryn Smyth to head of commercial for Europe and Rebecca Fang to head of commercial for Asia.
