Container shipping carrier SeaLead has promoted its chief operating officer to chief executive
SeaLead has announced the appointment of Cho Kit Wei as chief executive of SeaLead, effective 2 March 2026. Mr Wei currently serves as chief operating officer and has been a member of the SeaLead team since 2021.
“With over two decades of experience in the shipping industry, Mr Wei brings extensive operational and commercial expertise,” said a statement. Before joining SeaLead, he held senior leadership roles at Simatech Shipping and Pendulum Express Lines.
Mr Wei said, “I am honoured to lead SeaLead and its outstanding team as we continue to support customers across the world’s most dynamic trade routes. While the global container shipping market faces softer demand and shifting trade patterns, it also presents opportunities to differentiate through service quality and operational excellence. Building on our strong foundation, I look forward to advancing our growth strategy, strengthening our global position, and delivering value to our customers and partners.”
SeaLead said it extended its “sincere appreciation to Suleyman Avci for his leadership and commitment. This transition represents continuity, building on the strong foundation established under his tenure”.
