A UK-based subsea technology and services company has appointed a new chief executive to maintain growth
SMD, a UK-based subsea technology and services company, has appointed Kenny Liu as its new chief executive, replacing Julian Zhu in the position.
Mr Liu has been deputy chief executive and general manager of the electric-driven subsea equipment developer and aims to accelerate growth and innovation.
He had previous roles with Dynex and TEC.
“My focus will remain on building strong customer partnerships, accelerating innovation, and creating the operational resilience needed for continued sustainable growth,” said Mr Liu.
During Mr Zhu’s tenure as chief executive, Tyneside-headquartered SMD has developed a range of electric work-class remotely operated vehicles, sold 100 subsea ploughs, expanded its manufacturing facilities and reduced its emissions by using solar energy.
