Erik Hånell will step down on 1 December 2026, and Philip Eriksson is set to take over leadership of Stena Bulk
Stena Bulk said in a LinkedIn post that president and chief executive Erik Hånell will step down on 1 December 2026, after 14 years in the role, and GSB Tankers managing director Philip Eriksson will succeed him.
Mr Hånell joined Stena in 1999 and has given 27 years of service to the organisation. He will continue to serve on the board of Stena Bulk after leaving the chief executive position.
The company said the business he hands over in December is “stronger and better positioned for the future than at any point in its history”.
Mr Eriksson is the managing director of GSB Tankers in Singapore and previously held the role of global head at Austen Maritime Services.
Stena Bulk said its “strategy, commitments and ambitions are unchanged” and that the company enters the transition with “a strong commercial platform, a clear market presence, and the resilience to continue competing and growing in the years ahead”.
