DP World-owned Unifeeder Group has lost its CEO of 34 years, Jesper Kristensen
In a post on his LinkedIn social media page, Mr Kristensen said he had "requested to be relieved" of his duties with Unifeeder as the Unifeeder Group CEO and global chief operations officer for marine services at DP World.
"Now life moves on – hopefully to places, where my experience and unabated appetite for challenges can be of use," Mr Kristensen said.
The outgoing CEO noted that he had worked for Unifeeder for 34 years, with 17 years as the Group CEO. DP World bought Unifeeder Group in 2018.
Though he is leaving Unifeeder, Mr Kristensen will continue to work as "an active, non-executive, DP World representative to P&O Ferries, P&O Ferrymasters and P&O Maritime Logistics businesses for some months to come," according to a LinkedIn post from Unifeeder on his resignation.
Mr Kristensen will be replaced by two CEOs. Martin Gaard Christiansen at Unifeeder, will take on the role of CEO, responsible for the business in Europe, Americas, and West/North Africa. And Ganesh Raj will act as CEO for Unifeeder FZCO, responsible for the business in Asia, Middle East, and Eastern/Southern parts of Africa.
"From a Unifeeder perspective, we are grateful for the invaluable contribution, incomparable dedication, energy and true Unifeeder DNA Jesper has brought to the company. At the same time, we look forward to continuing the Unifeeder journey with Martin and Ganesh," the company said in its post.
In his public LinkedIn post, Mr Kristensen called his stint with Unifeeder a ’once in a lifetime priviledge’.
"I would like to convey my most sincere appreciation of the many years of co-operation, partnership, commercial “battles” and trust offered to and placed in Unifeeder and me. It has been a ’once in a lifetime’ privilege to accompany Unifeeder on the journey from being a local Scandinavian, Northern European shop, through 4 different ownership periods ... numerous acquisitions and organic expansions into the present global feeder and shortsea platform of 2024," Mr Kristensen said.
