Vroon's Jan-Piet Baars is new ISOA secretary

Mr Baars will assume the role in September, taking over from Tony Mason who has served as ISOA secretary for the past 17 years.

Mr Baars brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having held senior positions with the Vroon Group. He has also been an active participant in ISOA’s activities, previously serving as the association’s president in both 2019 and 2020.

In a statement, Mr Baars expressed his commitment to tackling the industry’s pressing challenges. He highlighted several key areas, including the imperative for owners and charterers to address decarbonisation, the expansion of offshore wind operations alongside traditional oil and gas activities, and the development of sector-specific data standards to facilitate effective information sharing among stakeholders.

ISOA is an international trade association that advocates for the interests of owners and operators of vessels involved in the offshore energy sector.
