Applied satellite technology provider AST Networks has strengthened its vessel monitoring and optimisation products after acquiring UK-headquartered Reygar
AST Networks intends to combine Reygar’s BareFleet vessel monitoring and analytics software with its own to enhance its internet of things (IoT) solutions in maritime and offshore sectors.
It also gains technology for dynamic positioning and controlling crewed and uncrewed vessels through this acquisition.
AST Networks will retain the Reygar team and intends to invest to broaden its solutions and expand into different maritime sectors.
BareFleet is already used on crew transfer vessels supporting offshore windfarms and on tugs working in inland waterways and harbours.
A new subsidiary has been formed, AST Reygar, to combine BareFleet with AST’s existing suite of IoT and alarm monitoring system (IRAMS) and network solutions.
“With the acquisition of Reygar, AST Networks is poised to deliver even greater value to our customers,” said AST Networks founder and chairman Gregory Darling.
“Reygar’s expertise in vessel performance monitoring complements our existing suite of IRAMS and network solutions, allowing us to offer end-to-end capabilities for optimising fleet operations, enhancing safety and maximising efficiency.”
Reygar managing director Chris Huxley-Reynard said this acquisition will enable the combined group to further develop vessel performance monitoring technology and delivery it to a wider market.
